IMSAFE checks illness, medication, stress, alcohol, fatigue, and emotion or eating, but it does not replace checks for dehydration, heat illness, or hyperventilation.

Hyperventilation can follow stress and produce dizziness or tingling; heatstroke and severe dehydration require stopping work, cooling, and prompt medical response rather than pressing through a checklist.

03 / PILOT DECISION

Make the call.

Detect the abnormal trend, estimate its effect, choose a safe outcome, identify landing action, land, then evaluate the cause.

04 / FIELD CHECK

Put it into the flight plan.

Put PAVE on planning forms, IMSAFE and heat/hydration checks before crew release, and DECIDE plus medical-emergency actions in the abnormal-event card.

05 / KNOWLEDGE CHECK

Why is IMSAFE alone insufficient on a hot production site?
